I Kings 12-13. I find it interesting in 1 Kings 12 that Israel fell apart like this. Rather than overthrow the King they just left. I guess the Bible tells us why in verse 24: "This is what the Lord says: 'Do not go up to fight against your brothers the Israelites. Go home every one of you, for this is my doing.'"
It's very sad how willingly the people accepted the golden calves in place of a living God.

  1. In 1 Chronicles 14:2 I see that David knew that the Lord really made him king of Israel and that he had made his kingdom great...and the Lord did this because he loved his people Israel.

    This is reminding me that I need to pray for those in leadership and I need to spur them on in doing God's will.

    I was also reminded in reading Isaiah 11 that an ax is not better than the person who swings it. A saw is not better than the one who uses it...may we not take the Lord All-powerful for granted.
